Mexico is full of ancient buildings and relics and chances are there will be one near your resort. However, it is often well worth your while to get off the beaten track and visit some of the more remote locations.
Getting around in Mexico is easier if you have your own wheels. Hiring a car means you can get out and about and choose the sights and/or theme parks you want rather than the coach trips that are available from your hotel or resort.
